മുന്തിരി കൃഷി ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തിൽ പലയിടത്തും ആളുകൾ ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട് . വളരെ വിജയകരമായി ചെയ്യാവുന്ന കൃഷിയാണ് മുന്തിരി കൃഷി. ശ്രദ്ധയും പരിപാലനവുമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ വീടുകളിൽ തന്നെ മുന്തിരി കൃഷി ചെയ്ത് കുല കുലയായി കായ്ച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നത് കാണാൻ സാധിക്കും . ആദ്യമായി മുന്തിരി നടുന്നതിനായി നല്ല ഒരു കുഴിയെടുക്കുക . അൽപം ആഴത്തിലുള്ള കുഴി തന്നെയായിരിക്കണം എടുക്കേണ്ടത് . എടുത്ത കുഴിയിലേക്ക് കൈയ്യിലുള്ള വളം ഏതാണ് എന്ന് വച്ചാൽ അത് ഇട്ടു കൊടുക്കുക.ചെടികളിൽ ആദ്യമായിട്ട് , അതായത് പോട്ടിംഗ് മിക്സ്ചർ തയ്യാറാക്കുമ്പോൾ ചെടികളുടെ വളർച്ചയ്ക്ക് ആവശ്യമായ നൈട്രജൻ കണ്ടൻ്റ് കൂടുതലുള്ള ചാണക പൊടി, മണ്ണിര കമ്പോസ്റ്റ് അതുപോലുള്ള വളങ്ങൾ വേണം ആദ്യം ഇടാൻ. അതിൻ്റെ കൂടെ കുറച്ച് എല്ലു പൊടിയും ചാണകപ്പൊടിയും കൂടി ചേർത്ത് കൊടുക്കുക. എല്ലു പൊടിയിൽ ഫോസ്ഫറസ് കൂടുതലുള്ളതു കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ വേരിൻ്റെ വളർച്ചയ്ക്കു സഹായിക്കും . വേര് വളരുന്നതിന് അനുസരിച്ച് ചെടി നന്നായി വളരാനും കായ പിടിക്കാനും സഹായിക്കും .കുഴി എടുത്തതിനു ശേഷം മുന്തിരി ചെടി കുഴിയിലേക്ക് ഇറക്കി വെച്ച് മണ്ണ് അടുപ്പിച്ച് ഇട്ടു കൊടുക്കുക. ചെറിയൊരു തടമെടുത്ത് കൊടുക്കാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക. ഒപ്പം വെള്ളം ഒഴിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുക . മഴ സമയത്താണ് വയ്ക്കുന്നതെങ്കിൽ വേഗം കിളിർത്തു വരും . മുന്തിരിയുടെ വളർച്ച അനുസരിച്ച് പടർത്തുവാൻ ആയി പന്തലിട്ടു കൊടുക്കാവുന്നതാണ് . വലയോ കയറോ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പന്തലിട്ടു കൊടുക്കാം. ചെടി വളർന്നു വരുമ്പോൾ കട്ട് ചെയ്തു കൊടുത്തു പലപല ശാഖകൾ ആക്കാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണം .എന്നാൽ മാത്രമേ ഇത് നല്ല രീതിയിൽ പന്തലിച്ചു വരികയുള്ളൂ . കൂമ്പ് കട്ട് ചെയ്തു കൊടുക്കുകയാണ് വേണ്ടത് . പാവലിനും മറ്റും ഇതു പോലെ ചെയ്തു കൊടുക്കാറുണ്ട്. മഴ സമയത്ത് വച്ച് പിടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ് വളരെയധികം നല്ലത് . കാരണം മഴ സമയമാകുമ്പോൾ വലിയ പരിചരണങ്ങൾ ഒന്നുമില്ലാതെ തന്നെ വേരുപിടിപ്പിക്കുവാനും വളരുവാനും സഹായകമാകും . ഇത്തരത്തിൽ വളവും വെള്ളവും നൽകി പരിചരിച്ചാൽ മുന്തിരി നമുക്ക് വീടുകളിൽ തന്നെ വളർത്തി എടുക്കാം .
