തക്കാളി വളരെ എളുപ്പത്തില്‍ കൃഷി ചെയ്യാവുന്ന ഒരു പച്ചക്കറിയാണ്. ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളില്‍ , ചാക്കുകളില്‍ , ഗ്രോബാഗുകളില്‍ ഇതിലെല്ലാം നടീല്‍ മിശ്രിതം നിറച്ചശേഷം തൈകള്‍ പറിച്ചു നടാം. വിത്ത് പാകി മുളപ്പിച്ച ശേഷം പറിച്ചു നടുന്നതാണ്‌ ഉത്തമം. ഇത് ഒരു ഉഷ്ണകാല സസ്യമാണ് , ഉഷ്ണമേഖലയിലെ വരണ്ട പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലാണ് ഇവ സമൃദ്ധമായി വളരുന്നത്. ബാക്ടീരിയാ വാട്ടമില്ലാത്ത ഇനങ്ങള്‍ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാന്‍ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക. ശക്തി, മുക്തി, അനഘ, വെള്ളായണി വിജയ്, മനുലക്ഷ്മി എന്നിവ ബാക്ടീരിയാ വാട്ടം ചെറുക്കാന്‍ കഴിവുള്ളയിനങ്ങളാണ്വിത്തുകള്‍ പാകി മുളപ്പിക്കുക, വിത്തുകള്‍ ഒരു മണിക്കൂര്‍ രണ്ടു ശതമാനം വീര്യം ഉള്ള സ്യുഡോമോണാസ് ലായനിയില്‍ മുക്കി വെക്കുന്നത് വളരെ നല്ലതാണ്. ഒരു മാസം പ്രായമായ തൈകള്‍ പറിച്ചു നടാം. നടുന്നതിന് മുന്‍പ് സ്യുഡോമോണാസ് ലായനിയില്‍ മുക്കി വെക്കുന്നത് നല്ലതാണ്. നേരിട്ട് മണ്ണില്‍ നടുമ്പോള്‍ മണ്ണ് നന്നായി കിളച്ചിളക്കി, കല്ലും കട്ടയും കളഞ്ഞു അടി വളമായി ഉണങ്ങിയ, ചാണകം, കമ്പോസ്റ്റ് ഇവ ചേര്‍ക്കാം. കുമ്മായം ചേര്‍ത്ത് മണ്ണിന്റെ പുളിപ്പ് കുറയ്ക്കുന്നതും നല്ലതാണ്. ചാക്ക് ഗ്രോ ബാഗ്‌ ആണെങ്കില്‍ മണ്ണ് ചാണകപ്പൊടി ചകിരിചോറ് ഇവ തുല്യ അളവില്‍ ചേര്‍ത്ത് ഇളക്കി നടാം.കടല പിണ്ണാക്ക്കപ്പലണ്ടി പിണ്ണാക്ക് വെള്ളത്തില്‍ ഇട്ടു പുളിപ്പിച്ചത് നാലിരട്ടി വെള്ളം ചേര്‍ത്ത് ഒഴിച്ച് കൊടുക്കാം. ഫിഷ്‌ അമിനോ ആസിഡ് , പഞ്ചഗവ്യം , ജീവാമൃതം, ഇവയൊക്കെ ഒരാഴ്ച ഇട വിട്ടു കൊടുക്കാം. ചെടി വളര്‍ന്നു വരുമ്പോള്‍ താങ്ങ് കൊടുക്കണം. സ്യുഡോമോണാസ് ലായനി 10 ദിവസം അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ രണ്ടാഴ്ച കൂടുമ്പോള്‍ ഒഴിച്ച് കൊടുക്കുന്നത് വളരെ നല്ലതാണ്. രാസ വളം ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലത്, അളവ് കൂടിയാല്‍ ചെടി കരിഞ്ഞു ഉണങ്ങി പോകും.
