കപ്പലണ്ടി കൃഷി കേരളത്തിൽ അനിയോജ്യമോ

കേരളത്തിൽ ഏതു സമയത്തും എപ്പോളും ലഭ്യമായ ഒന്നാണ് കപ്പലണ്ടി അഥവാ നിലക്കടല. നിലക്കടലയുടെ പലവിധത്തിലുള്ള ഉപയോഗം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും വ്യാവസായികാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ നാം കേരളീയർ കൃഷിചെയ്യാത്ത ഒന്നാണ് ഇത്. നേരിട്ടുള്ള ഭക്ഷ്യോത്പന്നമായി മാത്രം നാം നിലക്കടല ഉപയോഗിക്കുമ്പോൾ പല സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളും ഭക്ഷ്യഎണ്ണ, സോപ്പ് നിർമാണം, വാർണിഷ് നിർമാണം എന്നിവയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടിയാണ് നിലക്കടല ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. 

വരണ്ട കാലാവസ്ഥയിൽ നല്ല വിളവുതരുന്ന നിലക്കടല ഉദ്പാദനത്തിൽ മുൻപന്തിയിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നത് മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര , തമിഴ്നാട് , ആന്ധ്രപ്രദേശ് എന്നീ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളാണ്. കേരളത്തിലെ പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലും ചില സ്ടലങ്ങളിൽ നിലക്കടല കൃഷി ചെയ്തുവരുന്നുണ്ട്. അൽപ്പം ഇഷ്ടവും താല്പര്യവുമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ആർക്കും നിലക്കടല കൃഷിചെയ്യാവുന്നതാണ്. 120 മുതൽ 150 വരെ ദിവസം കൊണ്ട് വിളവെടുക്കാവുന്ന പോഷകസമ്പന്നമായ ഒരു കടലവർഗ്ഗമാണിത്. കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്ന ചെയ്യുന്ന രീതി വളരെ ലളിതമാണ്. മണൽ കലർന്ന മണ്ണ് നല്ലത് പോലെ കിളച്ചു ചാണകപൊടി വേപ്പിൻ പിണ്ണാക്ക് എല്ലുപൊടി എന്നിവ മിക്സ് ചെയിതു നിലമൊരുക്കാം ചെറിയ തടങ്ങൾ എടുത്തു അതിലാണ് തോടോടുകൂടെയുള്ള വിത്തുകൾ നടേണ്ടത്. വരണ്ടേകാലാവസ്ഥ ആണ് വേണ്ടതെങ്കിലും നന്നായി ജലസേചനം വേണ്ട ഒരു വിളയാണിത്.

നട്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞു ചെറുതായി ദിവസവും നനയ്ക്കണം. മുളവന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞു 15 ദിവസ്സം കഴിഞ്ഞു ചാണകം പൊടിയോ കമ്പോസ്റ്റോ ഇട്ടു കുറച്ചു മണ്ണ് ഇട്ടു കൊടുക്കാം അതിനുശേഷം ആഴ്ചയിൽ രണ്ടു തവണയെങ്കിലും നനയ്ക്കണം. 1മാസം കഴിയുമ്പോൾ വീണ്ടും വളം ചേർക്കണം .രണ്ടു മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ വിളവെടുപ്പിനു സമയമാകും. ഇലകൾ കരിഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങിയാൽ വിളവെടുക്കാം.
