ഇടവപ്പാതിക്കു നട്ട് തുലാവർഷം തുടങ്ങുന്നതോടെ ഒറ്റത്തവണയായി ഹെക്ടറിന് യൂറിയ 50 കി.ഗ്രാം, രാജ്ഫോസ് 110 കി.ഗ്രാം, പൊട്ടാഷുവളം 35 കി.ഗ്രാം എന്നിവ ചേർക്കണം.
നട്ട് ഒന്നരവർഷം ആയാൽ വിളവെടുക്കാം. ഇതിനു പറ്റിയത് ഒക്ടോബർ–നവംബർ മാസങ്ങള്. മണ്ണിനു മേലുള്ള ഭാഗം ആദ്യം ചെത്തിനീക്കണം. പിന്നീടു വേരോടുകൂടി ചുവടുകിളച്ച് എടുക്കണം. ഇതു കഴുകി മണ്ണുമാറ്റി വെടിപ്പാക്കി വേണം സൂക്ഷിക്കാൻ.
വിളവെടുത്താൽ ഒരു മാസം വരെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാമെങ്കിലും അതിനു മുൻപുതന്നെ തൈലം വാറ്റിയെടുക്കാം. വൈകുന്തോറും തൈലത്തിന്റെ അളവിലും ഗുണത്തിലും കുറവുണ്ടാകും. വാറ്റിനു 30–40 മണിക്കൂർ സമയമെടുക്കും. വിപണി കൂടി ഉറപ്പാക്കിയ ശേഷം കൃഷി തുടങ്ങുക
